Jeff Perks was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia. After showing talent at a young age, he began studying piano privately as a child. Jeff then began performing at church services at the age of 13.

Later on, Jeff moved to Columbia, SC to attend The University of South Carolina majoring in piano performance.

In 1983, Jeff was a finalist in a South Carolina concerto competition with Concerto No. 1 in B Flat Minor by Tchaikovsky (one of classical music's most difficult compositions).

In 1989, Jeff began recording solo piano. He traveled extensively in the south, performing dual piano concerts with another pianist. Jeff also toured many churches and was even an invited guest artist at a statewide Baptist convention.

After moving to Charlotte, NC in 1992, Jeff became musical director and pianist for two restaurants that featured a cabaret style dinner show.

In 1995, Jeff Perks was selected as one of eight of America's leading pianists to perform on a recorded tribute to Barbara Streisand.

In April of 2002, Jeff became employed as a pianist with Carnival Cruise Lines where he currently entertains thousands weekly. In the last three years, Jeff has traveled with Carnival to destinations including St. John and Halifax (both in Canada), The Virgin Islands, The Bahamas, Belize, Jamaica, The Cayman Islands, and several cities in Mexico including Progresso, Cozumel, Cabo san Lucas, Mazatlan and Acapulco.

Most recently Jeff traveled to Kauai, Maui, Kona and Honolulu in Hawaii, and Sitka, Anchorage, Glacier Bay and Ketchikan in Alaska. This was on the Carnival Spirit based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Jeff will return to this ship on November 16th to sail to several destinations in the Mexican Riviera.
